Drug Elimination Task Force
In 1990, the Murfreesboro Housing Authority (MHA) received a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to form the Drug Elimination Task Force. MHA, Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation, City Schools, and the Murfreesboro Police Department had a tremendous effect on reducing drug trafficking and building a sense of community in Murfreesboro Public Housing. With help and support from local government, civic organizations, and members of the community, the Task Force experienced much success through the 1990s.
